Okay, enough hot air. So what is it really? wirecurl.com just launched in the past few days after a while of planning and doing and other stuff to handle. With wirecurl.com, Andreas and me try to establish a web magazine that’s a bit more than just one of those regular “We write reviews of iPhone Apps” or “We test cool new websites and show them to you” sites. It’s more about the whole “2.0″ topic, from the web, over entertainment up to lifestyle and other sort of things. Currently, we’re having a hard time to fill up wirecurl.com with content and yet, there’s unfortunately still not that much to see – but we’re working hard to catch up and present you content you might be interested in.

I’m not going to annoy you losing too many words on this, but one thing I’d still like to mention: To sweeten you the launch, we already reviewed a brand new and yet barely known iPhone & iPad App named Flight+, and we’re giving away the App for free! Just check it out on wirecurl.com!

First of all: Hell, yeah! iTunes Cloud finally removed the pain and anger brought by Apple’s policy of having an iPod Touch/iPhone only linked with one iTunes Library. For me, it has always been a pain to synchronize my music in a smooth way all over my devices (iMac, MacBook, iPhone), especially when it came to MP3s. The fact that iTunes didn’t consider MP3s when using “transfer purchases” took any chance (except of using “Home Sharing”) to get MP3s synchronized all over. With iTunes content I permanently had to go that way: Buy them on my iPhone, connect the phone to my iMac when I was at home, “transfer purchases”, reconnect the iPhone to my MacBook when I was at work, “transfer purchases”, all done. But with MP3s this didn’t work.

Now thanks to iTunes Match and iTunes Cloud, MP3s are being matched to actual iTunes Store content and, if nothing could be found, the MP3s are being uploaded to the cloud, from where they can be streamed/downloaded to all registered devices. Sounds awesome, huh?

Well, actually, it really is awesome. There are some downsides, for example the *very* slow iTunes Match servers for uploading data. I’m not sure if that’s only because of the instant heavy load that recently hit the servers or if Apple just didn’t spend enough money for the server’s to be the dog’s balls. Anyhow, besides of that everything runs just fine so far. Streaming/downloading works with good speed (no endless seconds of buffering, nor interrupts while playing), artwork yet seems to be a little problem since here it doesn’t seem to get synchronized instantly all over my devices and the iTunes Match recognition works okay (only have/had to upload around 1k songs of nearly 5k).

The only thing that really bothers me is the fact that my iPhone actually gets flooded with music and the only way I found to remove recently “streamed” (or “streamed and automatically downloaded) music is by scrolling through my list with nearly 5k rows and swipe-to-remove each song I’d like not to have on my iPhone anymore, so I can use the 16GB for more than just audio.

It would be really nice if someone could point me a better solution to fix that issue or, if there is none, if Apple could please implement a feature that allows me to “clear the least played songs”.

Fast forward to today and the Smartphones we’re using in our everyday life – Blackberries, Pres and Pixies, iPhones and N900s. What’s the biggest part in that whole cellular phone market that changed since the mid/end 90s? Of course, it’s the phone’s technology and the features they provide nowadays. But what’s more important, the whole accessories-ecosystem around those phones actually changed. Today, you see people buying additional battery-packs for their Blackberries, since the phones are already that “Smart” that you’d actually need a constant power-source to make them last for more than a couple of hours of heavy usage. When people buy a mobile phone, they also typically throw some on-the-go charger into the bucket. And maybe also some docking-station for the desk, or even equipment for attaching it to their car’s windshields.

Now the whole accessory-ecosystem goes that far, that people even buy overpriced socks or pieces of silicon formed as protection-sleeve for their Smartphones. Especially within the iPhone user-groups you can see such protection-cases being very popular. But let us look from another perspective at especially those accessories.

When someone buys an iPhone, of course, he’s interested in the phone’s features and probably likes the way the phone integrates with the rest of his personal infrastructure, like laptops, computers/Macs, etc. But of course, only a few people really go for the features-pack only. Probably 90% of the iPhone customers look forward to have a phone that’s so exclusive and so beautiful that you’d hardly like to take it out of the showcase. And exactly at that point, all third-party manufacturers of iPhone accessories come in handy. So, people go and get their iPhones, take them out of the packing and lock them right into some ugly silicon, acrylic, plastic or whatever kind of case to protect their beauty against scratches, dirt and other natural enemies of the glossy piano paint. Sure, I mean, they paid and ass full of money for a brick that blinds you by its glint, so why should these people not try the best to protect it the best they can?

Well, sure they can do that – but where’s the point? I think I can talk for everyone that has ever searched for an iPhone case when I say that 99% of them are ugly as hell and not worth the package they’re shipped in. So, why do people then actually buy an iPhone for its cool look, when they “protect” it most of the time with such a case where the phone’s actual look does not matter anymore? For what? So they can slide it out when they’re feeling lucky and show it to everybody for one blink of an eye and then pack it back into its sleeve?

Of course, you can’t blame the people for that. I mean, why can’t accessory-manufacturers produce electro-magnetic protection shields that build an own atmosphere around the iPhone that does not allow anything else to come through than the owner’s washed hands to touch the touchscreen? I mean come on, that’s what people are waiting for! F*ck invisibleSHIELD, f*ck the pseudo translucent plastic shields that doesn’t absorb hits that could cause the iPhone’s screen to break into million small pieces. The people want cases that doesn’t even allow the iPhone to fall down the stairs or into water!

Yeah, right. Now I can definitely remember those days when I got my first Bosch 509 and protected it with one of the dozen plastic-sleeves against the cruel reality.

Think different, people.

Four days ago, I ordered the invisibleSHIELD at the invisibleSHIELD Germany GmbH, which arrived today – though the website told me something about 1 – 2 work-days.

After I got it, I unpacked it and read the sparse held documentation within the packaging about how to put it on my iPhone. I was not sure, whether I understood the few pictures right, so I searched on YouTube for a documentation video and found a couple. I looked at two or three and saw that everyone did it the same: Wash hands, turn iPhone off, clean it, spray hands with the solution shipped with the invisibleSHIELD, spray the foil with the solution, “just put it on the iPhone”, press out the solution from the center to the edges and wait until it dries.

And so I did. The first thing I’ve seen was: It’s a total crap to handle the foil. When it’s wet, you can’t really position it, but if you don’t, it will look odd when it dries. If you finally positioned it the right way and start pulling out the liquid using a credit-card or something else, it repositions again. Oh great. You take it of for several times and put it on again and then you finally have it! The middle dried out, it’s nearly “glued”, it’s good positioned and you can start “glueing” the sides. But now really just says “Hello!” again and you remember, that in real life, there is not room without tiny whiny dust-particles. You look at the already glued center of your foil and see that only half of the dust you see there can be removed – the other half lies beneath. Oh great!

Since it would totally over-stretch and destroy the foil, if you would take it off again, you just say to yourself “it’s not thaaaaaaat baaaaad” and just keep on going. You try to glue the edges, what seems to be pretty much impossible, since the cuts aren’t physically right done to make the foil bend the way it would need to. So you try and try and try and …. still it doesn’t work. It just doesn’t. However, it already pissed myself, and I thought of taking it off again and sending it back, but I though.. “ghnar, I don’t want an iPhone case!”. So I took a hair-dryer and warmed the edges to make them less restive. After I finally finished the whole thing, Mr. Reality walked by again and said “Hello!” – again, in real life, there’s no room without dust. Because of this, the sticky foil-edges started to look more and more flooded by little particles of dust – even more than usual, since I had to use a dryer to get the foil into the form it needed to have. Ouff.

Altogether, I’m very, very, very disappointed of the result and I’m lucky I’ve searched and found videos showing how to remove the foil again before starting the whole thing. I can’t believe I really paid €19,16 + €3,64 shipment for something like this.

My advice to everyone who would like to protect his iPhone against scratches: Just be careful. Try not to let it fall down or let other things fall onto it. You won’t become happy with such a foil.

The biggest news is only visible if you pinged devilx.net before and re-ping it now: You would see, that its IP has changed. After my web-space’s performance at Strato got more and more terrible (download rates of 6kb/s), I decided to move my blog to a provider I’m more familiar with, where I pay less for even more: HostEurope.

The actual transition was pretty much squabbling, since the WordPress installation I was running at Strato was some never-changed-just-upgraded-from-1.x installation, where WordPress used a latin1-database. This caused me some trouble when moving to the new host, but I solved it by writing myself a conversion script that removes all “random” characters from the database-dumps and converted the databases to UTF-8. As front-end, I’m now running the latest WordPress-release available.

After I’ve finished the transition I looked at the Prologue-theme I was using and thought that an exchange (YES WE CAN!) could bring some freshness to my journal. Though, I had to keep in mind the work I hacked into my Prologue-theme (like for example the iPhone detection bundled with the theme-changer, and so on), since I didn’t want to lose these things. I’ve found a nice theme, downloaded and installed it and started extending it. The main problem with my actual Hemingway-theme is, that it doesn’t make use of standard WordPress widgets. Instead it uses its own widget-concept, what pretty much made me write every widget I wanted to use on my journal from scratch – and so I did. For some, I took existing WordPress widgets and transformed them to work with my current Hemingway, others, I hacked in from ground up. I will still need to extend the widgets a bit more, for example to make use of some caching, so that the widgets won’t reload each tweet or gallery picture every time a user opens a new link on my journal. Correction: Done. I’ve now implemented caching, even before going live, just to avoid data-transfer/connection troubles.

Altogether I hope that the browsing experience will be more enjoyable now. At the moment, the site’s speed seems to be pretty good, but I’ll keep an eye on it when the heavy usage starts. Feel free to write me some feedback regarding the site’s new layout and the site’s speed.

I actually had pretty much work to do at the office and besides in private I also had to do stuff like learning for a certificate I’ve been doing for quite a long time, working on some private projects and of course not forgetting my princess. Also, due to the long working-days over the week I didn’t feel like sitting down in the evening and trying to hack something into my Blog, just to have written. At the weekend I’ve been away most of the time, as you could read on my Twitter profile and see within my gallery, heh.

Right now it’s around quarter past two in the morning and I’ve mostly finished everything I wanted to do for “today” – “today” as in saturday. The past hour I’ve been spending on writing e-mails to the developers of Apps like TextMate, Pixelmator, Wallet and Viscosity, to ask about their licensing models. I’m actually planning to use the licenses I bought for my desktop also on another machine, but before I wanted to be sure that I’m allowed to. By now I’ve already received the answers from the TextMate-, the Pixelmator- and the Wallet-guys, which were all the same: It’s no problem. It’s pretty cool that these Apps use a model where the license is bound to a person and not to a machine or a machine+person.

Aside from the IT stuff, my car said Hello again. Last week I had to do a day home-office, since I had to bring in my CRX to the car-shop. After I got it back, it had its oil and its brake fluid changed, new summer-tires put on and some news regarding my rear suspension: It’s fscked. Now I’m wondering whether to get replacement parts for the lowered suspension I’ve built in… or…. just get a K&W adjustable suspension. The second choice would cost me €799 + working hours. However, I’ll think some more about that.

Another thing I thought about was getting an Apple TV, since Apple finally managed it to provide movies in the german iTunes Store. The only two reasons that keep me from doing that are first of all the price (a.k.a “Apple ‘cool’ Tax”), which is way over the device’s value (especially when regarding the american-$-price for comparison), and as second the hope that Apple might introduce new hardware for the Apple TV soon. I mean, they haven’t had a hardware upgrade for a long time now. Eh.

I guess that’s all for now.

First of all, I really like the report. Really. I think it’s great that companies take the different pricing models serious and concentrate on judge them. Even if the whole report is sponsored by Microsoft, I still think it’s good. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe that any Apple-Fanboy might convert back to PCs after reading this white-paper. Still, I think (and hope) that some low-brow end users which might be pondering switching form their PC infrastructure to Macs might think twice.

I’m not saying this because I dislike Macs or because I’m getting paid by Microsoft for writing such lines. I’m just one of those Apple users, who use Macs because he loves the way everything is integrated and works out and because it gives him full-blown power over the whole system, since it’s “just a BSD” what runs under its hood – but I also think, that the iStuff is pretty over-priced for no other reason than maybe coolness, as already mentioned in the report.

The point which disappoints me is, that the report did not mention the stuff that matters – really matters. Instead, to me the whole document looks more like a Blog-entry, packed into a PDF and containing some cool spreadsheets and graphs. The comparisons within the report are just silly for an more experienced user. I don’t want to disassemble the whole document now, but I would like to take a specific part (page 9) as example for the reason I think this document is amateurish.

On page 9, the authors visualized the scenario they’ve described within two comparison-tables, one containing the costs for a PC and the other the costs a Mac would bring with it. The first thing I thought was: How come they include the costs for iLife Upgrade, Mac Office, Quicken and other software on the Mac table, while the PC table totally lacks of these packages? Does either the Dell or the HP, which were used as example devices bring such packages with them? I don’t believe so. Besides, what’s with the MobileMe entry? I mean, what for did they include this entry? They haven’t mentioned that any of the family-members would buy an iPhone or iPod Touch which would need to be synchronized over-the-air. And for Mac-2-Mac synchronizations there are very nice alternatives, starting from a low-level rsync up to Fruux, which by the way doesn’t exist that way for Windows.

Another point I don’t get regards the desktop-devices (HP/MacPro). Why did they choose a MacPro (a device for professional use, e.g. by music-, video- or graphic-artists) over an iMac – which would be way less expensive and also already include a 24″ TFT display, so the available panel could be used as secondary head on the iMac or on the MacBook. And why would they want to upgrade their MacPro/iMac with a ATI Radeon HD 4870 in the third year? For the kid to be able to play his ego-shooters? Oh well, guess what, these games probably won’t be available on the Mac, what kinda makes the whole upgrading thing useless. But how about spending the $260/$350 on an Xbox360 or a Playstation 3, what would be best for gaming and stuff anyway?

In the end, looked from a more experienced view, this report is nice for stopping unexperienced user to throw the rest of their money into Apple’s throat and maybe make Apple lower their prices someday, but actually the arguments mentioned within the report are ridiculous. I’m just waiting for the next “Hi, I’m a PC – and I’m a Mac“-commercial.

iPod Stand

This evening I saw the bunch of old business cards I still have from my former employer lying on my table, and I was wondering whether to throw the majority away or what else I could do with them. I still have over fifty of these tiny little pieces of carton here and just experimented a bit… and well, this is what I came out with.

I was searching for quite a long time to get some kind of stand for my iPod, since I’m already using it as alarm clock and would also love to have it running the “Flip Clock” App on my bedside table at night. Of course, there are stands for the iPhone and the iPod, but I’m not crazy spending over twenty bucks on a dumb stand. A piece of wood or aluminum, whose only purpose is to hold a device. Not connect it to another device (e.g. your Mac or your stereo) – just to hold it. 

However, maybe you like the idea and try it out yourself sometime.

Also, I would like to see a new (more affordable) Apple TV with more hard drive capacity and the information that movies are finally available in Germany, too. Also, a DVD-R or Blu-Ray drive integrated into the Apple TV would be very nice.

Whatever, I think we’ll need to wait and let us surprise, what Santa Jo..eh.. Schiller brings us this year, heh.

I bought my iPod Touch because I found it a very nifty and cool multimedia device. It’s not too big, it’s thinner than Kate Moss and it provides me everything I need: I can put it into my docking and listen on my HiFi to the music, I can take it with me, I can browse the web thanks to WiFi and it has great software on it which actually pack a complete notebook into one, tiny gadget with 3.5-Inch display and touch-screen.

I really doubt, that I might have bought it, if it would have had a screen size of 7- to 9-Inch (+ some Inches for the borders), because then the actual portability/mobility would be just lost. Of course, it would be a cool internet-tablet for home use, but I really don’t think that anybody would ever carry something like that around in his pocket. It wouldn’t even fit in someone’s pocket.

I’m really curious if Apple will really release such a device. Like I just said, I really doubt people might like to have it as a replacement for the nowadays iPod Touch. I think it would be something in the middle of a Touch and a Net…err.. no, sorry Psion, I mean… Sub-Notebook, what seems to me pretty useless, at least at the moment. But I guess, we’ll see…

Stuntman Mike's watch

Some days ago I was just showing some scene from Tarantino’s Death Proof to my girl, while I noticed Stuntman Mike having a pretty cool wristwatch on his left arm. I searched a bit on the internet and I could find figures of Stuntman Mike, I could find the Sunglasses he wear and even posts regarding his jacket were available – unfortunately I couldn’t find any information about the watch he was wearing. After searching a bit through the net I’ve found out that Fossil has similar watches, like the one showed in the movie. I really like that style and today I’ve decided to visit STR tomorrow, since I’m still having holidays, and take a look in the Fossil shop. Maybe I can put together a watch I really like. Besides, as far as I’ve seen it, they aren’t even that expensive – around seventy bucks for a watch.

So, anyway, now I’ll keep on chilling, enjoying my Corona and maybe watch some movie. I’ve started Planet Terror once, but the first few minutes it seemed to be just another more-funny-than-scary horror with a lot of splatter and a yet-again-cool Bruce Willis, heh. Maybe I’ll just continue watching that Zombie thing. Or maybe I’ll watch some podcast.

Apropos podcast, I’m really wondering when Apple will release their next Keynote and what products will join the Mac family next. Some months ago I’ve heard something about televisions (“iTV”? Maybe the reason why they renamed their current product “Apple TV”, while Steve was still calling it iTV in a Keynote some time ago)…. well, let’s see.

Of course, I could go together with my girl and party a bit in STR, but somehow I really began disliking the city. How it looks, how much it has going for, the people, the atmosphere. Nearly everything. Maybe I’m just already living for a too long period in STR.

Whatever, maybe I’ll just organize some last-minute trip to the outside of germany.

Besides, I’ll need to get up tomorrow pretty soon to visit my friends from the city hall. My ID expired at the end of September and I finally need to request a cool, new RFID ID card. Anyone interested in sharing his microwave-experience in that area? Heh.

Also, I’ll need to drive to STR tomorrow (d’oh! Not that city again!), to get some stuff changed. Yes, right, pre-christmas presents. Yes, I bought them myself. No, I haven’t been drunk. Meh.

Oh well… it’s late again.

Andi had a brand-new BMW 3-Series over the weekend and yesterday I asked him if he’d like to take me to the local supermarket, since I needed to buy some things for preparing the St. Nicholas present for my girl, which by the way comes back today from Hanover. And since my car still smells extremely of gasoline, we just went there with his Beemer. Anyway, when we arrived in front of my apartment we were thinking about what to do on yesterday’s evening and while we were talking I mentioned that Apple opened their fist Store here in Germany, in Munich. So… we just decided to spontaneously visit it.

The way to MUC was pretty crappy, in between Ulm and Augsburg there were showers of rain and even snow. But at around quarter past seven we arrived near the Rosenstraße, where the Apple Store is located. The store itself looks very cool – just like Apple Stores always do, heh. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded, what made it impossible to freely walk through the “halls of glory” and enjoy the new Apple products. I then saw the new MacBooks for the first time in “real life” – they are even sexier than I thought, heh. I really adore the new aluminium-with-black-gloss-design.

I was actually thinking of buying maybe my first game for the Mac or at least a pocket for the iPod Touch I’ll hopefully receive by tomorrow – but the prices kept me from doing that. I know, it’s Apple, but meh? I mean, €55 for a game (Rollercoaster Tycoon 3) that’s over four years old?!? Or nearly fourty bucks for an iPod Touch case? I guess Apple knew, why they opened up their first Shop in Munich, heh.

However, I also took some snapshot of the trip and the shop itself, just take a view at my Picasa WebAlbum. It was pretty and Munich is a very beautiful and nice city – compared to Stuttgart. I think I would really enjoy living there…

Therefor, today I’m a bit squashed and wondering what to do on this sunday. I guess I’ll stay in and try to figure out, why I can’t install Exchange 2008 on my Windows 2008 Server. I would really like to set it up and test ActiveSync using the iPod Touch I ordered – assuming it’ll arrive someday. I’m really wondering what the fsck is going on there, I’m now waiting for over one month for my touchy-touchy-fluffy-toy… hm.

Anyway, we planned to catch our train at 01:04 PM and just when we arrived at the main-station (on my clock 01:03 PM) the train left. Without us. Argh. After a lot of waiting, we finally arrived at the Neue Messe Stuttgart, at the Airport STR.

The exposition itself was pretty small, at least for the price I paid for the tickets. It was located in hall 4 only, and there weren’t that many exhibitors. I really expected more, at least for that price. But, whatever.

There was a lot of foods and drinks (especially wines) to try, and of course there also were a lot of things to buy: From salami, coffee and chocolate over fruit and vegetables up to pans and coffee makers. But the best thing exposed there was – in my opinion – Karl Lagerfeld’s EGO collection for Rosenthal. The dinnerware really had some nice shapes and would fit perfectly to (for example) the furniture by Herman Miller, heh.

I came back home around three hours later, with a package of Ettli coffee and three bars of Camille Bloch chocolate. I didn’t taste the coffee yet, but the chocolate tastes really delicious!

And now, I think I should walk down and search the old winter-tires in my cellar. I wouldn’t like to have to also buy new steel-rims for the winter-tires I’ll be hopefully getting by tomorrow (or the day after) on my CRX. Who’d like to help me carry them into my Honda? *totally unmotivated*

Winter '08 began

So, as it seems last night/this morning the winter 2008 just began down here. When I left this morning for shopping I had to search my car in between three big, white snowballs. Luckily I found the right one, heh.

The first thing I did this morning was, to get an appointment at my garage to let them put me (new) winter-tires onto my Honda. I’m already annoyed by just thinking of how my Honda will look with steel wheels, but I think it has to be. I’m expecting this winter to be pretty long, since last year I think the first snow fell only in january or so.

Whatever, after the garage stuff I did some eatables-shopping and was really pissed by the crowded supermarket. Since most supermarkets are open until 10:00 PM, I haven’t been for a long time shopping on a saturday this early. Luckily. But I think I might have forgotten some stuff, so I’ll need to go to the market again this evening anyway.

Yesterday evening I’ve been with my girl at some party a buddy of mine invited me to. He and some of his friends own a bar near here and yesterday they’ve thrown a techno party. Some hobby DJ was mixing some pretty nice Hardstyle/Trance tunes and the atmosphere was pretty cool. Unfortunately I’ve been pretty tired from work yesterday, so we didn’t stay that long. I was surprised, that at around 1 AM when we left, there still was no snow lying on the streets, though I’ve expected it – or to be precise: The forecasts announced huge abnormal extreme thunderstorms with blizzards and ice in big way from around 5 PM, heh. Short offtopic: This announcement made many people, not only in my company, leave work very early yesterday. So, afterwards, I’m laughing about the fact that some weather-stations can cause the economy on a day to slow down quite a lot, just by spreading fear. According to this, tuhl reported a traffic jam on the A8 yesterday at around half past four, what’s funny because usually the traffic jam begins at around 6 PM. But eh, that’s a good example of how people let themselves scared by assumptions or stuff that’s just not true. *wink to america*

Anyhow, talking about america, especially California: My iPod Touch still didn’t arrive yet. I’m really getting impatient, since I’ve ordered it nearly one month ago. And what confuses me, is the fact that the Apple Site is still saying “delivery within 24 hours”. So, I’m really wondering why the distributor I ordered it at – CANCOM – couldn’t deliver it yet. But at least the iWork ’08 I ordered arrived some days ago. Great stuff!

So… I think that’s it.

My future Livingroom

Last evening I was playing round with Google’s great 3D-modelling software called Google SketchUp and tried to do something, what’s actually not SketchUp’s purpose: I was trying to design a room. I was searching for quite a long time some home designing software that includes real furniture and the only one I’ve found till now was “The Sims 2″, though it’s pretty pricy since there’s also a need to buy the Ikea-Addon.

However, as I was saying, I tried out Google’s SektchUp and I have to say that I’m positively surprised by its features and the possibilities it provides – especially because it’s freeware! I did some scratches for practise and half an hour later I began to create my interior design. I spent around thee and a half hours for designing, but in the end I am very pleased with the result, especially regarding the fact of me being a SketchUp-rookie.

So, how does my future livingroom I’ve designed look like? Let’s start with the basic information: The room has approximatively 8.3 x 6.3 meters of floor space and a regular height. On the mocha-carpeted floor I have two smaller carpets (unknown brand, designed by hela19). On the lighter carpet a Sofa by Mark Goetz, a Noguchi glas table and the Nelson Coconut Chair is placed. In front of the Sofa, the Chicago Media Center by Blu Dot holds a Samsung Flatscreen-TV, an Apple TV and a DVD-collection. Since the DVD’s would be available on the Apple TV itself, the DVD boxes in the Media Center’s cubicles would be more prestige than use. On the glas table, a MacBook Air would be available as carryable media device.

Wall unit, Media Center, Storage Benches and Turntables.

On the left side of the room, a Smart Furniture Wall Unit would keep all books, magazines and other things in it. On the right side of the Media Center area a nice plant lightens up the room’s ambient and another seating accomodation with integrated shelves called “Cognita Storage Bench” by Herman Miller provides additional storage space.

Right after the benches, three (modificated) Linc L18 tables by Bernhardt Design provide the space for my DJ equipment. Into these tables, a part of my Vinyl collection could be placed.

The room’s entrance would be at the corner in which the SketchUp figure stands. Besides the entrance, a nice, black George Nelson Marshmallow Sofa would provide another additional seating accomodation, in a stylish way. Right next to the Sofa, another nice plant and a Herman Miller Airia Home

The "Office" Corner

Office fill out the other corner of the room. I replaced the original chair coming with that Home Office set by a Herman Miller Eames Softpad Executive chair. On the (modified – I stretched it to be longer and deeper) desk, an Apple iMac with wireless keyboard and Mighty Mouse is available for work, placed in a way to not get derranged or even distracted by the images showed by the TV, though it’s still possible to turn around and take a quick look at the show, even if someone sits on the sofa.

So, however, this would be my idea of how a perfect livingroom for myself could look like. The main problem would be to find an appartment which provides a 52.29 square-meters (living-)room, heh.
